I play 2v2 and 3v3 with a druid. I was wondering what all the other druids think about having thorns on against priest teams.

I'm mainly worried about POM bouncing off their teammates when I'm on one target and their teammates are hitting us for POM charges flying across the screen.

Any input on why or why not click off thorns would be very helpful.

Thank you:)

I always click it off to avoid that, any damage can make it bounce to yeah click thorns off when you go against a priest team; especially if you are killing the priest and the rogue/hunter w/e is on you.

It's also possible that the priest dispels thorns off for you while he's getting hots off whoever his mate is attacking.

Wouldn't you have to do damage to proc the thorns so the ProM would bounce anyway?

the person with pom would have to damage the person with thorns. pretty common situation.

another question: does thorn damage make roots break earlier?

I've never seen it happen, but Lightning Shield and Thorns function on the same mechanic and I've seen Mending proc of LS reflection, so I imagine it's possible.

Root have resist check on each tick and also have 'heatbeat resist'. Damage of any source other than the root itself can also break the root early(This one I speak from experience as an old old druid =P). Combine these 3 resist checks and this is why you see root breaks early alot. (Although sometimes it doesn't break early even you take lots of damage while rooted, kind of like fear)

Heatbeat resist was introduced a few patches back, check old patch notes for source.

The resist on each tick was confirmed by Cay, the old old druid CM.

While it's probably possible for thorns to activate PoM often I see PoM sitting on me through minimal damage and healing/jumping only after I'm about -1k health. I've not done any extensive testing one this in the arena, however.

I normally try to dispel everything off a druid in order to limit Innervation padding, but I'm interested to see whether I should change my habits or not.
