View Full Version : 0/34/27 - my pick for S3.
GS / Riposte / W Expertise / Nerves of Steel - Great toe-to-toe with warriors/rogues.
2/5 v 5/5 deadliness = not much of a dmg difference. take the slight dmg hit and get the stun/fear resist.
Comparison of 2/5 vs 5v5 in deadliness.
S2 weapon & typical gear/stats (see RED colored rows for comparison):

0/2 Imp Kick. Is Imp Kick really necessary anymore with all of the CDs AR/Prep has to offer? Maybe not.
I think THIS spec will be the S3 standard.

thoughts?
Tough call between 3/5 Deadliness and 2/2 Weapon Expertise... I am on the 3/5 Deadliness side of the camp atm and have 1/2 Wpn. Exp. (during stuns or from behind, Deadliness wins, but if you toe-to-toe melee a lot, then I guess you'd have to reconsider).
I always was a fan of imp kick, but it is interesting to see the perspective that you bring as far as its usefulness in ar/prep... i may end up shifting around a couple points in my spec.

I really tend to shy away from builds with no Imp SnD. I still like imp kick for chaining silences with my shadow priest partner (imp kick silence vanish garrote imp kick = 12 seconds of silence, great for killing druids). Also, I'm not a big fan of sleight of hand, I rarely find myself getting focus fired. I'd much rather have those 2 points in Camo to help get saps, openers, and restealths off. I went 55-3 in 3v3 today playing with my first team since the patch and a lot of those wins could be directly contributed to getting the sap off, which is something that I was unable to do quite a bit before picking up dirty tricks, mod, and camo. Camo really helps against paranoia, perception, etc.

That's a good point and I think the reduced CD on stealth is vastly underrated.

I think http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=fZhdEzbVt000RZxMe0MuRoh will be the most common build. The dodge and parry is nice reduc is nice, but if I'm fighting an evasioned rogue I'm usually shivving a lot which can't be dodged or parried anyway. On top of that, warriors have extremely low dodge in PvP gear, and you're going to be wanting to get behind them as much as possible so Expertise isn't a big help there. Anyway, those two reasons are why I chose 1/3 imp SnD and 2% extra AP over expertise.
As for the other talents
I've had GS for the past couple weeks, and the 1-2 uses for me didn't seem worth it, I'd rather max out camo. And as the above poster said, rogues don't get focused that much so sleight of hand is iffy. I kind of miss not having imp kick but it's not a huge deal.

Ya, i think u mentioned more or less the soon to be rogue cookie cutter build.
I think some might spec out of nerves of steal and put those 2 points in deadlines OR 1 in deadliness and max out heightened senses, as 1/2 in heightened senses will basically become a wash between rogues.
I dont know how much 2/2 in heightened senses will pay off, but i can imagine in a double dps team in 2s, cathching the opposing teams rogue is pretty significant. but then there is perception and paranoia, so i really have no clue.
