New Advertisements

The new ads on the website are flash. They take up resources and processor time. While browsing this site at work (ooh I'm naughty. not really I work a 3rd shift in IT.) Firefox/Opera/IE all ramp up and use approx 80% of my processor.

Could we get static ads please? flash makes me cry :-(

Yikes. I will see what I can do about trying to cut out the flash ads. I am not sure if there is an option or what percentage of them are flash.

I personally don't mind it. If he needs money, he needs money. The content of the site is definitely worth the minor inconvenience of the adds. Popups would perhaps be going to far, but I'd hardly consider plain adds an annoyance.

P.S. Yea Firefox is memory consuming as hell.

Sorry forgot to follow up. We can't specifically turn off flash ads, but I have noticed a decrease since you posted this. We are looking into a few other advertising networks so we will see how that works out.
