As far as I know, you have to click it after it kills a totem. I haven't gotten to test it out, I've only used it in arenas and usually am too busy to pay a lot of attention to my pet. I usually click it a few times and then a couple more when I see another totem go up.

/petattack [target=Mana Tide Totem]
/petattack [target=Earthbind Totem]
/petattack [target=Windfury Totem]
/petattack [target=Tremor Totem]
/petattack [target=Grounding Totem]

It starts at the bottom, so make your priority list going bottom to top.

Is there a way to make it go back to its target after that? /petattack [target=focus] maybe?

I think there is a "last target" modifier that you can throw in there, but I wouldn't know how to use it.

That wouldnt work if theres more than one totem though.

I have a separate button for petattack, but if you want it in the macro, I would put it on the top of the totem macro before mentioned. If there there are no totems to kill it will go back to attack whatever target you specified.
