Taiwan Regional Finals - Blizzard 3v3 Tournament

Looks like the regional finals for Taiwan are this weekend. It looks like it could be very exciting considering how many different comps they will be running (no paladins of course :P)

UPDATE: The live stream can be found here: http://www.efun.name/live/. We won't be covering the results due to the language barrier, but you should still watch it as it is entertaining.

The 2008 World of Warcraft Arena Tournament Taiwan Regional Final will be taking place this weekend, August 2-3, at the World Trade Center in Taipei, Taiwan. This event will feature the top eight teams who advanced from the online qualifiers. The eight teams that will be competing are:

- Made In Taiwan (priest, warrior, druid)
- 小嵐洛 (priest, rogue, mage)
- 黑貓是白目 (warrior, rogue, druid)
- 十粒�*�明一切 (rogue, warlock, druid)
- 我們來娛樂的 (shaman, priest, warlock)
- 豐原�*客 小德撲會玩 (warrior, priest, druid)
- �*�*�英雄大爺集團代表隊 (rogue, hunter, priest)
- Cydonia (priest, rogue, rogue)

I'm rooting for 'Made in Taiwan'. The priest on that team (think his name is 'Kek') used to be on my server (Spinebreaker-US) as the legendary mage Zet.

He was definitely the best pvper I've ever seen and it was sad to see him move to the TW servers when they came up. I expect his team to win regionals easily! :)

I have a very difficult time believing the priest on that hunter team is anything except shadow.

Train hunter = victory even more so then the more poular druid version of the combo.

Trying to think of what exactly a disc/hunter/rogue team would beat if if he was infact disc....

It leads to somekind of stream BUT I have no idea if the tournament will be broadcast on this :P . Atm it's like Taiwanese boybands or something.... crazy.

Bummer, trip dps is always a good watch.

This DRR is TERRIBLE (DRR vs PRR).

Game 1 both rogues on druid and other rogues on priest, PRR hard swap blows up rogue on DRR's team with no heal.

Game 2 PRR single rogue on druid whole game, game plays out rogue vs druid, rogue rogue vs priest rogue (each on opposite corners of map). Druid found in stealth and uses all CDs to keep himself alive, rogue trinkets warstomp to kick cyclone, NO BLIND OR SAP comes from either rogue. Rogue gets low, by the time druid gets close he cheats death and dies with 1 bloom up.

Game 3 DRR goes WRD vs PRR and PRR trains war to start, doesn't force him defensive but takes almost no damage. Swaps to druid in caster and rogue/war don't even try to peel till druid is at 2%.

Terrible.

Now covering DPW vs RLD (fuck if I know what team is what :P)

RLD is horde, DPW alliance.

Game 1: Nagrand arena. Slow start, RLD goes hard on priest while DPW goes on rogue with full druid/priest dots. RLD gets some cc on the war before feral charging a druid cast. Everyone topped back up. Priest kidney'd at 50% hp, but druid gets him up. Once again topped up. Mana looking pretty even between the two teams. Rogue still on priest and priest is now OOM. Priest getting trained hard. 50% hp. 40% hp. 30%, big heal to 80%. Priest zero mana druid 15%, RLD druid 15% mana. Priest resists kidney, down to 50% hp full dots no hots up. Druid getting mana drained and goes bear. RLD druid back to ~40% mana but priest still sub 500 and druid around 15%. RLD makes a hard switch to druid in bear, priest keeps him up but now both healers are OOM and full dots everywhere. RLD is training the druid hard but gets away with an intercept on the rogue, but druid roots him and rogue is right back on him. Druid down to 50% hp no mana, priest oom, druid being trained hard in bear. Druid ticking down, 50%, 40%, 10%, both druid and priest lit up red about to die. Druid goes down and the priest follows immediately.


Game 2: No changes in setups. BEM arena, both teams charge in, warlock charges and jumps over bridge to enemies side, then humps pillar out of LoS. Charges up their ramp and starts getting up dots, warrior opens on warlock while RLD is once again on priest. Warlock gets an immolate up when warrior swaps targets. Warrior goes right back on warlock and pummels the fear. Priest quicklky down to 30% mana, RLD druid still almost 90% and other druid down to 45% as well. Almost no pressure out by DPW. Warlock gets a full mana drain on the priest while the warrior is on the rogue, but still no pressure coming. The priest is lit up like a christmas tree with three rows of debuffs and is sitting steady at about 30% mana. DPWs druid down to 50% mana and RLDs down to 40%. Warlock freecasting, warrior nowhere to be seen. <Feed Lost Briefly>. Warrior back on lock, warlock jumps off the bridge and everyone else follows shortly. Lock once again channels a full drain on the priest with no pummel from the warrior. Priest 40% hp, no mana. Druid CCed briefly. Druid down to 50% from hots. Hard switch to the druid, druid's going down, 40%, 15%, lit red, priest completely oom, druid dies. Priest dies about 15 seconds later. Completely one-sided fight once again.

Game 3: RoL arena. DPW goes WRD vs RLD. Slow start with WRD in middle and RLD at start. RLD's lock comes out dotting warrior but warrior doesn't open on lock. Both melee start on voidwalker but fail, warrior cycloned. Druid 50% hp with low hots and a few dots, warrior down to 30% but gets picked up slowly, forced sword and board after he's knocked back down to 40%. Once again picked back up in hp but druid down to 15% mana and no hots rolling on himself, vulnerable to a switch. RLD stays on warrior. Warrior down to 40%, fears both lock and rogue but down to 500hp, probably nailed by a nightfall, dots rolling, desperately trying to get away but a deadly throw finishes him off. RLD completely dominates this round once more.

Ugh that was such a gay final. WLD completely outplayed the double healer team in game 1, 2, 4 and 5 and the druid in the 2 healer comp RNGed his way to victory in 4 and 5 escaping at 500hp both games.

The OP order might be their seeds, but I'm not sure. I know it was MiT winning the finals against I think Cydonia. Cydonia made it to the semi's at least.

True. I do think they played in a round prior to the finals, but with all the text unreadable I'm really not sure who played who and what rounds I saw people even playing in.
