Hello there junkies!

We've faced this setup quite alot lately after the 2.3 patch. It seems like they are invincible. 1/3 healing -> dmg, pain supression and PI on the warlock mixed with a few fears here and there are uncomprehendable dps. We have tried a few different tactics and we really only succeeded in winning when we managed to kill the warlocks 1st pet (felhunter - voidwalker next), changed target to the priest and killed him while surviving the unbelieveable amount of incomning damage.

The thing we struggle with is the insane amount of dps unloaded by both the PI'ed warlock and the 900 spelldmg priest MB'ing and SW:D'ing. I simply get bursted by the HEALER priest(wtf).

Any suggestions or is this combo the new druid/warlock rock?

pressure the lock and kill the pet twice asap (taunt/sweeping strikes helps). prevent the lock from spawning a third pet. rejoice.

I haven't Arena'd since the patch so this may have changed but... in general, I'm able to outlast a SL/SL warlock longer than a priest is able to outlast a warrior beating on him. I just stay stealthed until my warrior is at 60 or 70 percent (sometimes it takes that long for him to get on a smart priest who is running away on a mount)... then once the priest is hamstrung, my warrior can typically keep up with him and beat him down...

Make sure you bring the warlock pet by your warrior every now and then to hamstring it so you can get away and steal a drink tick or two. Your strategy is generally to outlast this team, and its very possible since your warrior is interrupting their healer, while applying a 50% healing debuff, thus making his heals far less efficient. The druid has to deal with manadrains, but he should be able to avoid that since he should be accustomed to avoiding drains anyways...

Make sure your druid is leading his heals with lifebloom (the priest will be dispelling your hots if he's smart, and a dispelled lifebloom = profit)...

Also, I will agree with Ridzik, if you can get the warlock's pet down twice then its over. The priest simply will run out of mana trying to keep a clothie up without Soul Link... its an all or nothing strategy though, because if the priest is healing the pet and shielding it, thus rage starving your warrior, then he's bought himself some free reign to Manaburn the druid. If a priest gets 2 or 3 manaburns off on the druid then the fight is over, you lose...

For all these reasons I'd say stick to the priest like glue, even though its taking longer after the patch to kill a priest, your warrior should still be able to handle him before the Lock kills you/runs you completely outta mana. If he can't, time to find a new druid.

Also if its viable, getting a root or feral charge off on the priest can really mess with his rotation and make him burn more mana through a dispell...

best of luck

Giving the priest acces to dps. No go.

It's no problem for me to outheal lock/hpriest as long as the pet is slowed from time to time and I don't get manaburned. I can easyly dodge the priests manaburns that's why my warrior stays on the lock. Pets can be taunted (twice without switching to defstance). Ragestarving should be no problem since pets don't have resilience. Excessive shielding is no option, it's just to mana inefficient.

With 2.3 we also found this comp to be extremely difficult if the priest played offensively.

Our solution was to root cyclone the lock while just focusing down the priest. Just keep hamstring on the lock so he can't move freely, and don't be afraid to switch the the pet if the priest gets away from you. It'll force him back into range to heal.

Well played it seems to be a powerful combination now, although i'm unsure how it will stack up against other teams.

Hey excellent movie ridzik.

I havn't played my 2v2 team (priest/lock) in 2.3 yet, but really, I don't see how you have much troubles beating this team. The hamstring nerf is probably what hurts you most, TBH. All you really have to do is know how to avoid being killed while your druid is feared. And honestly, your druid shouldn't be getting feared all that much. Depending on the arena, you should be able to keep hamstring up most of the time on both, and can put it on the pet and them when your druid needs to drink. It all boils down to the fact that the priest can't escape you, and your druid can easily escape the warlock/pet with hamstring.

i can see how pain suppression in a "long" 2v2 fight could be annoying as it could be used frequently to stop burns. however, you should be able to run the priest out of mana by killing pets or by straight up harassing him before your druid runs out of mana. just remember, your druid needs to LoS fears, and you need to know when to back out as to not soak up too much of your healer's mana
