I had like around 800 spell damage as elemental when 2.3 came out with all my healing/damage gear. Although i was resto originally i still think 800 damage is decent.
First arena i went into was lock/pally, i couldnt get the lock down to past 60% with the help of another dps. I even crit LB the lock for 900!! Why is my damage so low? And if i use my capped honor and arena points on ele gear will it be a bunch better? It just surprised me critting a warlock for 900 as elemental.
Thanks.

Chances are it was because he was demo with felhunter. It gives them 60 resist to all schools of magic.

800 spell damage critting for 900 doesn't add up. You are either exaggerating something or just not telling us something :\ Even with Soul Link and Felhunter I don't get crit for 900...

2222 dmg crit leaves your hand, and encounters 200 resil, 50% resist, Soul link for 20% dmg to pet, and lands as a 800 dmg crit.

like what cloc said, the resistance and soul link. he could have crit for 2000 technically, but showed him a 900 flash, and if u read log it would say you crit for 900 ( 1100 resisted) etc w/e. so his crit was probs more than just a flat out 900.
