I've been waiting to do 2's with my rogue partner, Aingee (formally Pyrotek) since he came back, and we finally got to get some in with good queue times tonight. Granted, it was only from 1800-2050, so it wasn't super high up, buuuuut, few things:

1) I'm 41/20 spec, so keep that in mind.

2) Against War/xxx, seemed like a good idea to pop PS on the rogue after he goes through his evasions and CDs or whatever. Pretty much negated warrior damage for a while, I guess making him come to me, so the rogue could stay on the target. Probably common sense, but since I'm new at healing with this spec, figured I'd just say it?

3) Rotating fear/blind is huge now, actually. Can control the team pretty well, and I'm not really forced into trying to MC a target when Aingee is burning it.

4) Biggest/funnest thing, I suppose. It's totally possible to gib a target in 2's (haven't done 3's/5's with this spec) now. Played a War/Sham team, started on the shaman, he eventually got away and dipped, pulled the warrior around a pillar and blew him up. 1k+ smites/mind blasts/sw: deaths are so nice.

Just sharing, 'cause I think some priests were sketchy on the whole going to PI/FW/PS spec.

It is fun though!

Copying/pasting my post from realm forums. I really, really love this spec. Looking forward to season 3 with it!

Yesterday this 4 DPS team walked into the Arena like they're cool, and they're like, "We're going to DPS their warrior" and I'm like, "I'll cast Pain Suppression on you Fetchaley." (as he cried on vent). So, they start their DPS. I put Pain Suppression on Fetch. He still has his two hander out as he whoops their Spriest, and they kinda just stand there after their Priest dropped like a rock through BoP (PI'd Mage ftw).

They definitely liked it, they came back for another game, and didn't even know what to do in the 2nd game. Definite noobies.

Champion spec ;-).

This spec is for champions.

LOL ME TOO... 5v5 just got alot more priest friendly, not that it wasn't before. My 5v5 used to have trouble on burst teams, yesterday, my a 4 dps team shamanshadowpriest blah blah starts nuking our warrior, i see his health drop ya know, 2000 on the intial hit, so i painsupression him, he drops down to a little under half which, without pain supression, would have been his death. We did that shit all night it is deff the right 5v5 spec i can tell you that

DONT BE CAUGHT IN 5v5 WITHOUT IT.
(chastise wins games)

I just spec'd 41/20 today and played with a rogue as well. It gives you a much better chance to beat teams that would have been otherwise next to impossible like warr/druid, warr/pally. Pain supression is nice, though sometimes its not enuf. However power infusing yourself to heal yourself while you got 3 stacks of Focused Will is very yum yum. We started playing at around 2:30 am and stopped at 7 am at a little over 2k rating. All we faced were warrior teams, druid teams, and lock teams. We faced one mage rogue team, the rest were the classes mentioned above. I'm fairly impressed with how we did and i think it has a lot to do with this spec and +1/3 spelldmg from healing.

btw anyone know what the highest rating a hpriest and rogue has gotten on bloodlust is?

I knew you would be all over this post Earrl! But yeah, to reiterate Earrl's point. PS/PI are definitely useful in 3s and 5s. It's been something we've been experimenting with for a while, but I'd say the majority of our success has come while Earrl has been PS/PI.

The best time to use PS is:
1. when the damage on the target is as high as possible (during a kidney shot on you/your partner or when your partner is out of cooldowns to escape a warrior for example)
2. when it allows you to take advantage of a situation and do something offensively when you would've otherwise had to heal (example: druid comes into your LOS to heal his partner, so you PS partner -> mana burn -> chastise -> mana burn or chastise -> mind control -> jump off bridge or chastise -> mind control -> run on top of yourself and fear when MC breaks)

p.s. chastise is ridiculous, expecting a nerf

I don't even wanna imagine what kinda burst damage a PI'd shaman can put out. It must be crazy.
I hope my resto shaman is going elemental soon so we can invite a disc priest. Gogo Moonkin/Shaman burst ;-)

Well, just for the sake of argument, we can easily imagine what kind of damage a Shaman could put out with Power Infusion vs. without Power Infusion.

Say the burst this Shaman normally puts out is 4,000 damage in 3 seconds.

With Power Infusion, it's 4,800.

Not an awe-inspiring increase by any measure, but it's still extra damage. Would probably mean more in 2v2/3v3 than 5v5, to be honest.

Yep, 4000 if lightning bolt and earth shock do not crit, you are right. If they do crit, it's more like 5,5-> 6,600. Let's not say they would both crit all the time, but PI is 15 seconds. You will be able to do more than only 3 casts, and if you have watched some recent 5v5 videos from kollektiv, you will notice that his burst is somewhat the deciding factor in the games. If he had 20% more, the oposing priest (usually priest) would just die that much earlier

Did some 5's as 41/20 for the first time since the patch last night...did very well (though our 5's wasn't that great to start out with.)

We took nearly 100 points from a 4dps team named something along the lines of "lol ur warrior died" Except of course...he didn't this time.

I also chastised the other team very frequently. Unfortunately, it was only verbally cuz I ain't gotz that spell. Undad4life.

Paladin/DiscPriest combo = you live forever grats.
