Rightio
we run a hyb priest, holy palla, resto druid, frost mage, warr combo
last season we nudged 2k rating but never passed but with a slightly different lineup. lock isntead of the druid.

this season we touched some 2050 or so rating after picking up the druid. Our tactics is fairly simple, war ganks, pally heals, druid CC/heals, mage CC/dps and I'm pretty much left to fiding my own job as well as getting ganked, mostly manaburning. support healing if needed. Last night we had a horrible streak dropping from our 2020 rating to 1920 and i cant see what we did wrong, or differently from what we used to.. which makes me think, could it be that we just faced some crappy teams until now? is our matrix not really that strong. and the next question ofc would be what can be done to change it? would we be better served if I went shadow?

Any help would be welcome.. if not help then at least comments on how to deal with the different teams out there

Depends on who you faced. When facing a 3 healer team, even though you mana burn, I can garuntee alot of the higher teams will let you heal to death and wait most of you run OOM and then kill you. One will probably focus you so you don't mana burn. CoT on you so it is harder to mana burn. I will make sure you can't mana burn our healers (luckily we have 2 really geared healers that can outlast most 3 healing teams). We have 3 dispellers so a little hard to CC. But...your dps is a frost mage and a warrior. The warrior will be left alone, not giving him any rage. The mage will also be focused. Point being...let the healers heal and run OOM. Just interrupt CC and mana burn and we would win. You really would only have one DPS. You don't have the burst to down someone before your mage is OOM. Someone will make sure he stays OOM. A warlock won't run out of mana, and with just a warrior doing dps after mage goes OOM, then he can just dot everyone and lifetap and get a heal. All those dispels and having to heal everyone instead of just one will make you run out of mana alot quicker than us.

If you can get mana burns off, then I would imagine you should have a good chance to win. But I've never run a 3 healer team, but it seems to me with a mage, having him on a LONG fight might not be the best because good teams won't let him evocate or drink. Then you are down to one dps. Is your mage waiting for BOP to be used before bringing out the elemental? If you are going to try to "Burst" someone down. You need to do it when the warrior can do damage too. When you start to damage, you healers try to CC their healers so they can kill someone. You need both the warrior and mage to kill someone since your burst isn't very high. So when the "DPS" really starts, a mage can throw on a silence, but you healers need to work out a stun/fear/cyclone order to interrupt their healers.
