Hello all,

This is my first post on these forums. I pretty much only PvP now, and figured I would start attempting to gain more and more information as I can.

So far, I've been plagued this season with finding steady partners to play with. I finally found a 5's team that works that I formed (SP, Pally, UA lock, Rogue, Mage) but we don't get to play as often as we like thus hindering our gladiator chances (though we have ranked up in the top 50).

In 3's I got up to 2200+ with an Elem. Shaman and Ua Lock last week, but we dropped 12 games in a row (I know, heartbreaking) to very poor play. I'm pretty satisfied with the setup though.

So those aside (which can be topics on their own).

WHO TO 2v2 WITH???

I can only think of 4 possibilities. Rogue, UA Lock, Mage, and Hunter.

I've yet to pair up in 2's with a hunter, though I'm going to try it beginning of next season.

I've had alot of experiences with the other 3 though.

My desire is to pair with a rogue...which I am right now. We push 2100 (after only playing 30 or so games together). But the main problem is this:

What spec should the rogue be, and what spec (small tweaks) should I be.
and also --- how to better the timing of CC's with this team.

I was hoping Rotard, or Noxn (who are in my battlegroup) might see this and shine some light on it for me.

There are only 3-4 good rogues on my server atm....and the 2 available to pvp with are NOT maces. How detrimental will this be to our team? I see a huge difference with a mace rogues ability to keep someone locked down. Mutilate (which my partner now is) is pretty nice for burst...but man I hate how fast people can get on me and knock me out.

If anyone has opinions on this setup and how to improve (i KNOW it's one of the most powerful...I'm just still getting used to it) Please share your advice.

also...the teams I find most troubling are drain teams. SL/SL locks and hunters that take out my mana. Insight on combating against those would be welcomed as well.

thanks everyone,
Paladeus (jon)

I do well with a Hunter.

It helps in timing interrupts/CC if you make raid warning macros for the respective abilities.

As a 2 DPS team, it's simply imperative that you kill something before the drain teams drain you. There's no real way to prevent that from happening except to LOS at appropriate times and kill as soon as possible.

Before I made a new team to get my rogue %played we were in the 2300+ but normally you will want to get off a fear on their healer or the dps target you aren't killing and put enough burst on the other target for them to trinket and follow that by a silence. Afterwards your rogue can also blind if you need it and if it's a druid healer make sure you dispel abolish poison for the rogue blinds. For sl/sl locks you'll want to kill them first unless MAYBE if it's sl lock/rogue although we still kill the lock first. For hunter teams, we never really saw them often. We just killed the healer while I los'd the hunter the best I could. Don't forget to use shadowfiend before you hit 0 mana and he keeps a viper on you.
