How do you help your team beat 4 dps teams?
I ask because today we got rolled and I mean rolled by a Rogue, Shadow priest, mage, eley shaman, pally. Rocked us 5 games in a row from 2295 down to 2234, we did get back to 2305 but that’s beside the point.

The fights went through like this the rogue opened up on me and continued to lock me down while the casters pretty much lowered our war down and silenced off our pally and sheeped our priest and lit up our warrior to high hell.
If our warrior managed to los the casters the rogue would lock me down so much they could pretty much take me down faster than my healers could keep me up I tried to los as much as I could but my freedoms were gone instantly so crip was always up.

The one time we beat them we tore up the rogue he had full merci but all off gear was bt/hyjal stuff and he was full mutilate so our warrior was tearing through him. Then they q dodged us.

I try to play defensive as much as I can to try and reset the fight just outlast there burst and start the fight over with less of a threat of getting dropped in the blink of an eye.

My team actually just went up against this team many times today. Lost a close one for 24 points or so but were able to beat them like 4 games in a row and get our points and then some back. My 5v5 contains of a Holy Priest, Holy Pally, MS Warrior, Frost Mage, Elemental Shaman

Most 4 DPS teams we play have a Shadow Priest, even if im not focused I always make sure that my next purge on our target will get BoP off when needed if they have a pallly. If you're being focused their isnt much you can do cept run around. We won the games by going Shadow Priest then Rogue in our kill order. Rogues are usually a bad first target unless they burn CDs early/stupidly. Occasionally I just try to stop thier burst as much as I can, like shocking the shaman and purging his Elemental Mastery if I am trying to kite.

Alot of times if you can hold yourself up that long, a pally is an easy target after his bubble is down.

The key to playing an ele sham vs a 4 dps team is finding the right balance of offense and defense, you have to keep in mind that if they're focusing your warrior and he's playing defensively spell reflecting and LoS'ing (as he should be), it's up to you and your mage to kill something quickly or you are going to eventually lose. It's extremely important that you shock casts, deal damage, and heal your warrior if your healers are CC'd, but it's important to still play offensively while doing this.

We typically focus fire the shadow priest vs a 4 dps team, I set my focus target as either the mage or the shaman and try to interrupt as many polymorphs or lightning spells as I can. Well timed grounding totems go a long way here, and you will need to be on the ball with purging BoP too.

See thats the thing i was never focused unless our warrior pulled out some mad losing and dodged most of the dps, the reason we went for the rogue is because he burned his cds really fast off the bat a was mut so pretty much only had bop to save him, the problem is they split the dmg they put the rogue on me and all casters on the warrior so it makes me a shock every 5 secs thats the only dmg i could do, when it came down to the healers being cced our warrior almost got rolled everytime because i couldnt heal with the rogue locking me down. I try my best to time groundings when i see there dps mid cast trying to soak up some dmg. There pally also bubbled almost instantly on engage, think it woulda been a good idea to go after him?

vs 4 dps, it really depends on the make up.

If its a dot based 4 dps team that runs something along the lines of-
shadow priest
warlock
warlock
rogue
healer

we usually try to get a CC on their lone healer and smoke the shadow priest. I purge spam the shadow priest in order to be sure to nab the bop when it lands as well as back up heal when needed.

If it is a bloodlust based teams that runs something like-
elemental shaman
frost mage
rogue
warlock/shadow priest/moonkin
healer

we usually ride the storm that is bloodlust and I go full defensive. I heal around as much as possible while our priest tosses out a mass dispell or 2. All the while keeping an eye on their shaman or mage. I save my nature's swiftness heal and leave a grounding totem CD avaliable around when the bloodlust has gone about 30 seconds when the 4 dps is going to really start the pressure. As soon as I hear over vent "I am silenced/counterspelled/sheep full duration" from our paladin, I drop my grounding totem and keep my finger over my NS/heal key. Oh yeah, and I save my trinket as well.

Once bloodlust is gone, so is their steam usually. And we proceed to pick them apart.

If I get FFed, I do my best to LoS and be a general pain. I save my trinket till its absolutely necessary.
