Yeah lol last season when my 5s team was at 2407 we were Qing up and after about 15 minutes it gave us a team that was rated 982... the mage ran in and instantly pom pyro'd but forgot to put up arcane power. It was great :P

I think it's a very underrated comp. Hell, I benched my mage for almost all of s3 so I'm playing sloppy as shit and with people I barely know, and we're still having loads of fun and doing reasonably well.

War/Druid/Mage is also very underrated - I'm hoping that the CD nerf and Rhoz's success running it will push more Mages into trying non-PMR comps. It adds more variety to the bracket and would hopefully reduce the importance of comps based solely on their ability to counter PMR.

It certainly can go toe to toe with PMR, at least in my experience. Just dump all the pressure you possibly can on the mage and don't give him any breathing room to CC, ever, and the match will go your way every time. If the match drags on to a second blind, you might be in trouble, but we haven't had a game go past the first couple minutes.

Haven't had the chance to play it against WLD or RLD, but I hear it does well against both comps, which makes sense to me - felhunter vs. sham/war is not happening, and decurse helps your resto shaman a lot. Voids are pretty easy to kill with mage/war synergy - 1 intercept to an MS and a shatter combo with purges and it's going down. All three members of your team can stop the lock from getting another pet out, and you also have the option of swapping to the druid at an opportune time.

Double melee hasn't been tough - war/rog/druid is a joke, double rog / druid isn't very hard, druid/ret/war is probably a bit harder but shouldn't be worse than 50/50.

The big question mark is double healer teams - double healer warrior shouldn't be too bad, and I don't think double healer hunter will be nearly as tough as it is for PMR. Much easier to take down the Hunter's pet, and once it's gone then their draining ability is crippled by shocks, grounding and poison cleansing.

3 DPS is pretty much a bad counter, however =( Thank god OP SHS rogues have nearly exterminated them.

With ES for 80% pushback resistance on Poly and poison cleansing totem to help kite, single rogues shouldn't be able to lock down your mage. I can't see RLD being that much harder than WLD. Spell Haste weapons are only going to make controlling single rogues easier.

Tales plays holy in 5v5, so that's probably what you saw on the armory. He's ret in 2v2 and 3v3 however.

Started playing wmd like 3 days ago. It's a really fun comp and will really test your coordination with your cc(much like euro comp which I run in 5s) so I like it.

Only teams that gave us real trouble (in our one night of 3v3, lol) was PMR, and we ended up beating mokumoku risers and their priest in our last game, we were just focusing the wrong target. The comp is absolutely incredible, especially if the shaman is able to keep the warrior out of CC. We managed to farm RWD pretty badly too. Definitely a comp i'd love to continue, if my shaman hadn't gone inactive.

Yeah, seems like the % of PMRs has gone down since last season. We've seen 1 PMR in the past 20 games...2 tops. No complaints on this end, but it does seem like there aren't that many running around. Could be completely wrong though.

Btw GGs Rhoz from several days ago, I think you got 2200 off our RPD (horde). You guys really play that comp well. I felt like our comp had a slight advantage but you basically outplayed us after I caught Innate in that Hibernate for the kill on Antiport first match (lol), but after that Innate's amazing CC on me and the Priest just kept the pressure on the entire time. I faked about 80% of Antiport's counterspells and it still wasn't enough QQ.

He feels it necessary to make a trophy case out of every win he chalks up against glick. Saying that we dodged them is also ridiculous and I'm fairly sure we thought the same thing about them at the time.

The game in question he is bragging about he nearly completely lost for his team. We were playing our old set up, :warrior::hunter::priest: fguard:warlock: zyori which in today's meta game is so terrible. As far as we can tell we get absolutely countered by 4 dps, cleave teams, and yes Euro comp which is the team galice uses. This is why you do not see this make up high rated anymore, it's bad.

Anyways, basically how the game plays out is the warlock keeps our paladin out of the game while they sit on our warlock. You should know how this works being the druid master of the "we gay paladins all day every day" warrior version of this set up. We swap over to Galice and he decides like the genius he is to tank 90 percent of his hp in caster form before switching to bear form and getting some very timely peels from his warlock and mage. If our priest had used dispel magic more than 4 times in 300 games I have played with him on my warrior perhaps the outcome would have been different but he scampered away with 2 percent hp while I sat in a full poly. Eventually they had an opening to train down our paladin.

it was a close game but it should not have been that close and galice played badly. The fact that he brags about it makes him look like a retard, to answer your question.

idk...i was messin around on TR with afflic lock + mage + druid and afflic lock + spriest + druid and both comps were ez as hell to farm WLD, we even faced one of the WLD teams that ended up qualifying to move on and farmed em. we basically played super offensive on the warrior (cc lock/cyclone druid right away) and cyclone warrior when druid cant be cc'd by cyclone/silence/cs/whatever. he'd eventually die (or druid would oom).

all the warrior has to do is go defensive when he's below 50% and spell reflect/shield bash or LoS. you're saying that a frost mage with a felhunter on him is going to be able to burn down a warrior with an affliction lock when a druid has full HoTs on the warrior and we have no dispeller. it would be easy to outlast the mage's mana pool, especially back in the day when mana drain isn't nerfed and mana gems only had 1 charge.

good games last night, actually gave us trouble until i taught our rogue how to play vs. that setup. it was his first time playing a real mirror team and recently hit 70 and has no resilience armor gear >.<

the difference isn't that enh shaman is easier than resto druid, it's the synergy between the classes on the teams

warrior/rogue has amazing synergy together, regardless of the 3rd player.

rogue/shadow priest, not so much. you pretty much have to have a good resto druid for the team to be remotely viable. the only reason why it works so well in 2v2 is because of how much CC there is while you just 2v1 the other target along with switches at any given moment

in 3v3, and i'm sure you've seen, switches as rogue/shadow priest can't happen so easily as 3 dps, because if you don't kill a target in the first 10 seconds, the shadow priest will have been dead before then.

as your set up, selling pr, all your druid really has to do is cast lifeblooms and stay alive long enough for you two to kill a target, which isn't exactly hard, just stay near a pillar and keybind travel form.

not to mention, saying you guys were "2v3'ing" is a stretch, considering your druid was a Challenger last season, meaning at least he has some sort of idea of what to do. our guy (and I hope he doesn't read this lol), well, let's just say, we had to drop him from the team and reinvite him to get his personal rating back up to 1500.
