I was leaning towards the s3 sword and a mongoose.

Thus far I've only used savagery.

Some thoughts on this?

Im think Executioner might be a bit better than Mongoose...haven't tried it yet so i really can't say for certain.

The proc on executioner would be nice.

Does anyone know the difference in proc rate of mongoose and executioner?

executioner is better than savagery in terms of sheer dps but there is the caveat that it is useless against fully sundered clothies, and procs in pvp are much, much worse than passive effects.

mongoose frankly shouldn't even be considered

Executioner seems a real winner to me, which is why I'm going with that on all my weapons.

I don't know about you, but you don't really get to full sunder clothies in 5v5 unless your battle group is full of terribads or you never hit and run hamstring.

nah we play a drain with 3cc; i don't hit and run hamstring because deep wounds breaks cc--i focus on locking down one target, so i have time to stack them

I play pretty much on all burst teams (yay for several variations of 4dps on my 5v5) so I enjoy the crit for burst potential of mongoose..... it's almost always up when I dump my rage on a target, too. Personally I don't think any of the three are really game-breaking, though. In the end, I'm sticking with mongoose, unless I'm proven wrong.

once you start thinking of mongoose as a chance for a chance of a dps increase, you realize how bad it really is

So would you say executioner then?

The only targets that would hit 0 armor fully sundered would be locks, mages, and dispelled priests. And even then stacking 5 sunders between a MS/WW rotation takes a lot of time and rage; and in a lot of situations, we are lacking time and/or rage.

which is why i'm speccing 45/5/11 next patch ;p enrage is useless for 5s really, because when im focused, im line of sighting incoming damage. the only thing i'll really miss is the control provided by piercing howl...but it's situational, and i daresay there are more situations where i need last stand nowadays than those in which i NEED piercing howl.

plus if you can't get enough rage to toss a sunder at least every 30 seconds, you're doing something wrong
