Well why not. I have seen post all around forums about whats wrong with our class etc. TBH with the latest upgrades I see nothing wrong with our class besides us getting another crap utility that we will never use. I have seen suggestions on the Hunter Forums, but I would like to see what you guys think. :p

Best suggestion I have seen yet is

My background:

This ability CAN be a good change for the hunter community, but you have to make sure it gets into the game in a useable logical way.

From a hunter that has seen the game from MC>Illidan and everywhere in between from the old honor grind to the 2100+ bracket in all 3 ladders at one time or another.

Please consider this suggestion in regards to aimed shot.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My opinion:

The ability needs nothing less then a full overhaul................Details below.

Aimed shot should be a buff, think of it like coldblood.

What this buff should do is change the hunters next steady shot. The steady shot could already be considered aimed since it has a cast time. Its a steadily aimed shot.

What this "Aimed Shot" buff would do is change the way the next steady shot works.

Levidian gains [Aimed Shot]
My next steady shot would then apply the mortal shot debuff, and possibly ignore armor.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reasoning:

The hunter focuses and aims his next steady shot with great precision causing it to Ignore armor and inflict a mortal wound. Which makes sense if you aim a shot you would look for armor weaknesses.

Details:
"Aimed Shot"
11pt talent
20 second CD, Mortal Wound duration would be 8-10seconds.

Tooltip:
Your next steady shot ignores armor and inflicts a mortal wound.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Issues/balance:

The armor ignore would have to undergo testing wether or not it would be to much but I think the mortal wound being inflicted by a steady shot would be ideal for the implementation of said debuff.

Why is this balanced?

-Takes 11pt investment in the MM tree.
-Maximum uptime of 40-45% compared to the possible 100% uptime for MS/Wounding
-Fixes the currently gimped aimed shot and gives it a use.
-Puts our wound on a reasonable cast time.

Thanks for reading!

Edit: Yes I'm aware of the situation with steady shot being a lvl 62 ability. There is discussion and fixes in this thread.

This may be a hunters wet dream but it ain't happening. Despelling, MS-debuffing and manadraining all while running with a 200dps pet on that clothie and 'beast within' active granting an eternity of cc-immunity - its not christmas yet.

With all the hunter buffs coming it becomes very likely that Blizzard will move the aimed shot talent to a much higher tier.

Greetings, player who is ignorant about the Hunter class.

If a Hunter has Aimed ("MS") Shot, chances are he doesn't have TBW. Also, as a Druid, if you have problems with Hunters in Arenas, you should probably unbind your S key.

"Unbind S key" That's a new one to me. Funny ^^

Cast time reduced to 3s still useless unless timed with cyclone or fear

did you even read the first post of this thread? let me summarise for you:

fact: TBW + AS are possible
suggestion: */cry on* AS is useless, please let us shoot it on the go so there is no need for us to stand still for some time to apply the most powerful pvp debuf ingame */cry off*
result: big fat red hunters everywhere that (attention: rotation) manadrain, ms-debuf and dispel while doing white dmg and NEVER STANDING STILL - meanwhile they avoid cc and cc themselves with traps (no need to stand still for them as well) and wing clip and in addition they have a pet on the enemy dealing serious damage.

again its not christmas yet. the suggestion of the TS would really put hunters beyond competition.

..or stun or snare or disorientation or harmstring procs/feral charge/roots or the need of the opponent to stand still and actually cast something. cmon

ahh wait a minute, AS is no subject to silence and when combined with TBW cannot be interrupted right?

seriously i'll laugh at every hunter with decent equip who doesn't reach 2k next season.

Levidian's suggestion in the OP is perfect. I hope blizzard does this for us in the future. I think it's a balancing change. Too bad blizzard didn't think of it when they decided to give us MS. :(

I have a very typical bestial wrath spec. Click my spec to see; I have aim shot. How did you even get on this forum? /facepalm

Most people don't really understand the aim shot problem. NOBODY USES AIM SHOT! ...and for good reason. Aim shot resets your auto shot timer. If you're using aim shot in your shot rotation you are suffering a MASSIVE reduction in dps. Reducing the cast time from 3.5 to 3.0 still leaves us with the same LOS, and dps problem.

TBW grants you immunity to everything that your pvp trinket can clear.... it does NOT make you immune cast time interruptions from taking damage.

I don't claim to know much about the Hunter class, in fact I know very little in comparison to those of you who have proven skilled/knowledgable enough to grace this forum, but the argument that "NOBODY USES AIMED SHOT!" as reasoning that this change is useless seems a bit whiney. Obviously nobody uses it now, but wouldn't an ENORMOUS buff to the ability warrant some use, thereby off-setting this complaint?

Just throwing that out there, as I've been browsing the Hunter forums for a bit checking out what you guys think of these changes.
