Alrite so I'm just lookin' at the 2.3 changes and tryin' to come up with new combos that would perform significantly better in S3 than they do now. Right now I'm thinkin' somethin' along these lines:
Mage - Frost
Rogue - Hemo/Maces
Druid - Resto
Priest - Holy/Disc (Perhaps full disc)
(Hunter or Warlock) - Marksman or Felguard
It's essentially a lightweight control/drain hybrid team. Lacking the paladin you lack a good source of spammable heals, but with this setup I feel that the amount of CC more than makes up for it. I am almost leaning more toward the warlock as the 5th member because of the fears, however the hunter buffs do make them more favorable than in S2. Let me know what you think about the hunter/warlock issue.
The team would focus on taking as many of their players out of comission for the majority of the fight. Mage sheep on opposing mage/dispeller, druid roots/cyclone on the warrior or rogue, with the two rotating CC's. The rogue would be put exclusively on the focus target, locking him down. The warlock would drop fears on the main healer (likely paladin) or the hunter would lay down traps for the priest/druid to kite over. Drains would be kept on the main healer while dps would focus on a squishy target.
The only thing I fear with this team is 2xMS warrior teams. I could imagine if I ran this setup and fought a team such as this more than once, I would sub in the hunter over the warlock.
Another viable substitute would be subbing the warlock for the mage and playing warlock/hunter/priest/druid/rogue. There would be more of a focus on draining in this setup.
Let me know what you think = )
