Hey,
I currently have the season 2 2handed sword, and I am obviously sword spec. I do enjoy the spec and the potential burst damage I get with it. However, I was just curious for those of you who have the season 2 2handed mace and whether you think mace spec is still good without SH.
Since the windfury nerf, sword spec doesn't seem to be as strong as it was, so I was thinking about trying out mace spec. But, I just wanted to hear opinions from those who actually use the arena mace.
If anyone has percentages for the stun procs for stormherald stun + mace spec vs. mace spec with arena 2hander, that would be great.

imho mace spec is the best spec with or without SH. From what i hear SH rare procs anyways.

Couple questions for you (or anyone else that has opinions) then:
Have you tried sword spec and compared the two?
Do you know the exact proc percentages of mace spec with SH vs arena s2 and SH weapon stun proc?
And, in your opinion, do you find mace stuns proccing a lot without using SH?

I thought this forum was for mature players, but apparently the random emokid gets in.
Anyway, the mace change is perfectly fine in my opinion. It is clearly the best weapon spec for warriors and it needed to be toned down. This is right in line for the kind of nerf I wanted for warriors.
However, there are many other things in the game that I think could use a nerf. AKA - Warlocks.
But, every little bit counts. I hope this nerf goes in fairly soon so people stop QQing about skillherald warriors. As long as Blizzard leaves my rage generation and damage alone, I am ok. :D

With the incoming mace stun nerf, i think that sword spec will be the best in season 3.

After playing other classes on the PTR, I think mace stun is ridiculously OP right now, especially in 2v2, the main issue being that consecutive procs can stunlock someone from 100%->dead.
Instead of reducing the % to proc, they should put in a 10 second hidden cooldown on the proc.
Or, if they do reduce the proc rate, make it 5% to proc, and +12 rage, to put the rage gain in line with the other specs.

Emokid?
Even you as a warrior use 'skillherald'.
It's nice that soon we dont have to roll dice to see who will win in +2.1k rating games.
I don't use a skillherald.
I think it's easy mode. But, if it wasn't going to get nerfed, I was going to hop on the stun bandwagon. But, if you read my original thread or check my armory, you'd see that I currently use the season 2 2handed sword.
Anyway, I'm glad mace spec is getting toned down. It is clearly the way to go right now. I hope this nerf will be enough to get people off the nerf warrior bandwagons. Because, IMO, our damage is fine. Other classes can actually do more, it's the stuns and the damage that people were complaining the most about.

yes i have tried sword spec before...i never really liked it much but it's not bad.
Mace proc with SH is around 11%....i believe with S2 mace it's around 8-9%. The actual top end dmg and stats on the SH is what makes it > S2 mace imho. The SH proc is only around 2.5% i believe and the SH proc doesn't stack with mace spec proc it is two checks. Every swing there is a 11% check for mace spec and then a second 2.5% check for SH proc

I agree, I don’t think Mace spec proccing “too much” is the problem….i think that the ability to proc consecutively is. I mean the whole point of getting mace spec is to be able to randomly stop a person from running or randomly interrupting a heal….if they lower the proc percentage by too much it might not even be worth it anymore. Personally I would like to see it change to something where each swing builds up a meter…and when the meter is full you can activate the “mace proc” and have it 100% chance proc on the next swing. Might be too OP, who knows :P
