Wondering if anyone has actually attempted math to determine which is the better curse to use with a spriest also in your group. Failing that, simple opinions are welcome.

In pvp without amplifying or trinketing coa should represent 100 dps by itself (not considering shadow weaving/misery). Counting those other factors I'd say that coa would be at least 140~150 dps, so, unless you and your priest are pumping over 1500 dps (which you most likely wont), damage wise coa is superior.

Now, you can argue that it lowers the target's resistance to shadow, but I'd still take the dmg potential from coa every time, unless playing against people stacking SR, obviously.

I play with a shadow priest on 5's btw.

use COS if your with a shadowpriest, this a burst team, shadowburn/shadowbolt get effected by it, your spriests burst gets effected by it, not to mention they won't resist your spells as much, and fear, ALWAYS use this.

the only exception would be forcing a rogue to CLOS by pressuring him with more damage, then after the CLOS you must have CoS on.

I still disagree, most of the shadow resistance in 5's is negated by our spell penetration combined with heavy purging of buffs like prayer of shadow resistance, also, since we are constantly having our dps slowed by being focused or cc'd our combined dps is not going to be consistantly over 1500ish so coa is probably going to be more dps.

Also, there is no "ALWAYS" do this or "ALWAYS" do that, it depends on the situation, you may have a different opinion, which doesn't mean you're right ok? Unlike you I never said "ALWAYS" use coa, I generally prefer coa, but if for some reason I'm having trouble with resists, then I could go with shadows, that's what pvping is about, adapting.
