How effective is a heavy melee 5v5? My paladin hit 70 two weeks ago, and I bought all of his honor gear since then. I also made a 5v5 with some really skilled people on my server, and we have hit 1850. There have been some close games, but my gear is very lacking at the moment (my healing is under 1050, with only 8.5k mana).

The setup is warrior/warrior/ench shammy/resto druid/pally. In season three, we may rotate a warrior with a ret pally. Basically, the warriors rush a target and lock them down while the ench shammy feeds us bloodlust, purge, windfury totem, and burst dps.

I am wondering what types of teams will give us trouble once we face 2k+ teams. Gear is obviously an issue for our team at the moment, but what makeups will be tough? Caster heavy teams may be tough, and what can be done to counter them?

If anyone has played a similar makeup before, any tips would be great.

(The team's armory is http://wowarmory.com/team-info.xml?r=Ravenholdt&ts=5&t=Hordecore+Pwnstars&select=Hordecore+Pwnstars )

Good hunter teams with an intelligent offensive dispeller will basically be your bane.

Right now it sounds like you're basically cramming two warriors down the opposing teams throat, but as you get higher and higher split DPS becomes a bit more of a necessity.

Split the Warriors, have the Shaman jump back and forth a little but provide solid backup lockdown and interrupts, unfortunately he can't play too aggressively and is very prone to being kited, but it gives you a place to start.

once the melee shaman is fully manaburned (there is no way you can protect his mana) his dps drops significantly and he doesn't add a lot for overall survival. we play this setup with resto shaman instead to counter gib teams. but the melee shaman lowers the margin of error allowed very much.
