Ok I'm a warlock and the thread title pretty much sums up my playstyle. It doesn't really have much relevance to this post but I have a bunch of questions so here goes:
To start off I'll just say I've been PvP'ing since the TM/SS days and I like to think I know what I'm doing rather well. In the old PvP honor system WoWguru predicted 7 more weeks of grinding (I think it was inaccurate though as my calculations said 9 weeks) for me to hit Grand Marshall. But then I got burned out and quit when I was 99% to rank 12 (gg me), but now I'm back. Unfortunately I'm pretty far behind in gear (catching up though) since during season 1 I levelled my pally from 1 to 70, did some arenas, and just before season 2 started I levelled my warlock up to 70 and started season 2 in greens...fun times :)
I was SL for a while at 70 to make up for lack of gear, then affliction when I got FSW, and now finally destruction since I have some gear. I hated every minute of not being destruction and I'm loving this game again now. So onto my arena teams, mostly I'm looking for advice on my role as well as tips I can give to my partners.:
2v2 I play with a mage. For a while we were frost / aff, it worked pretty well but we got owned by resto druid teams and any team with a holy priest or dwarf/draenei (any spec) priest. We owned every pally team though which was nice, but still our rating capped at like 1720. We haven't done 2v2 since I respec'ed so I'm looking for advice on how this will go now. He's also fire at the moment just because he was raiding and doesn't have money to spec frost again, but he'll go back to frost when he can. So advice for 2v2 Fire mage/ fire lock, and fire lock / frost mage is more than welcome :).
Mage's name is Gohan if you need to armory.
3v3 my team was inactive for a long time, it was just me and a couple RL friends (the same mage from above, and an enh shaman). We're making a new team now with the same 3 but we're adding a disc priest as a swap-out character. The enhancement shaman has a great deal of PvP experience (the shaman is an alt, his main is a warlock in Forgotten Heroes with 2000+ ratings), but the priest...not so much. Again any advice more than welcome.
For armory Priest's name is Nightfire, Shaman's name is Psion, and again Mage's name is Gohan.
5v5 We do a lot of member swapping which I find somewhat annoying. I know we can get the rating up higher because our "main" members are doing a hell of a lot better than when we started after getting a bunch of upgrades in the past couple of weeks, but we only ever play with like 3 of them because the captain wants to get points for everyone....I guess that's not a bad thing but I'm just a competitive person and would like to see us run our main lineup and climb the ladder. Main lineup is Enh Shaman, Holy Pally, Aff Lock, Dest Lock, Resto Druid...I know it's really weird but they're all active and they all know how to play.
For armory (our "main" lineup) Shaman's name is Psion, Druid's name is Phuzzy, Paladin's name is Contender, other warlock's name is Yatc. Sometimes we run the mage Gohan instead of Phuzzy (in fact Phuzzy only started playing recently but he was part of the original makeup of the team). Gohan's played most of the games but he hasn't been very active recently, our swap-outs are a warrior named Tinytifa, and a mage named Buffwy
That's all for now; thanks for reading my wall-of-text-life-story, and thanks a ton in advance (since it won't let me thank you later :P) for any advice.
