should ele shaman get resto gear in 2.3?

So my partner in 5v5 is concerned about what to do with 2.3. With the healing --> damage changes in 2.3, he's certainly considering picking up resto gear instead of elemental gear because he does a fair amount of healing in 5v5 as well, in addition to bursting. The only thing that worries him is that blizzard will change their mind about this healing to damage thing and nerf him, which means he's blown 5k arena points on a gear set he won't use as much.


What are all you elemental shaman doing in 2.3?

The 70% knockback avoidance will be one of the most effective set bonuses an elemental shaman could ever have. That change is happening in 2.3 and it will certainly help him out much more than some extra +healing can do. I'll continue to pick up elemental gear.

Same here, still going for the Elemental set mainly due to 4/5 bonus change.
After all I'm there mainly to DPS and the extra healing on my offheals, won't outperform extra damage.

first of all, you lose spell damage and a ton of crit. Secondly, you dont get the pushback resistance to lightning bolt. I think you lose close to 25% spell damage, which is no small amount.

Elemental shaman heal fine as is in 2345 set ups.

So the answer is a resounding NO.
