I'm in two minds. Ive had decent sucess with a palla and myself in 2v2, just hitting 2200+ today. However, I want to try my hands more on 3v3 than I currently have, but I have no idea which setup would be a good one.
Ive tried Palla/Mage/Warrior, but it seemed with got smacked by priest/rogue/lock and similar teams, who are able to pressure our mage and manaburn at the same time. Boomkin/Palla/Warrior didnt work out great either, they seemed to focus the boomkin and that would end the match. Lack of CC in those situations I guess.
Would Warlock/Palla/Warrior work? I figure thats 3 targets not easily downed, not excellent on CC, but good survivability. I figure the same for Resto Shaman/Warrior/Palla, or even an Elemental Shaman instead of the resto.
Then it kind of occured to me that Warlock/Resto Druid/Warrior could actually also work vs. most setups. So.. If any of you have any good experiences with warrior setups in 3v3 (I'm talking 2200+ ratings in the larger and tougher battlegroups), please do elaborate.
Thx.

Warlock/Resto Druid/War
Elemental Shaman/War/Pally
War/Pally/Healer
Warlock/War/Pally
Mage/War/Pally
Would all be your best bet for high rated arena setups

If you want to keep playing with your pally friend, I'd definitely find either an ele or resto shaman, or a spriest as your third.

Any warrior/2 healer or warrior/spell damage/healer combo.

jeeez take whatever good player you can find in addition to your personal pala and make it work. its not like the well geared and active pvp'ers grow on trees or something.

I would personally go for warrior + 2healers atleast for season 3 where healers will get some spelldamage.
there's been a lot of good replies, but the best bet is to find a 2nd healer. priest, druid, and shaman all work well.

My 3 v 3 is Warlock/Resto Druid/Warrior and we went from 1700 - 2100 in a day. (Replacing a rogue for the warlock) Until we started letting nubs get on our team and getting points -_-. But yes, that team make up is very very strong and it's only real problem is double healer warrior, and mage/priest/rogue. But we didn't really try focusing on it too much, so if you put the time into it i guarantee you'll break 2200.

Try to stay away from a pally healer, pally's get locked down way to easy. I prefer to run Warrior/Frost mage/Holy priest we were 2300 earlier this season, just remaking the team.
The combo requires a lot of communication and a good mage who can balance defense and offense, keeping the priest alive and assisting you in killing a player.
Good example of this combo,

I played priest warlock warrior in season 1, and we reached over 2.3K rating with quite a lot of ease. That might have something to do with the fact that i was playing with easily the best two players i have ever played with, but it was a very successful setup.
It required for me, as a warrior, to play defensively more than offensively (as in stunning, hamstringing, pummeling anything that woould try to harm my priest), while we slowly drain the other team's mana down. It was a very impressive setup, and the best 3v3 team i have ever played in.
In season 3, i believe warrior, resto shaman, paladin will be quite an excellent setup with the damage built in to + healing items. It'll be quite dangerous i think.
