A friends' team is preparing to go into arenas with a 5v5, and the idea they have is to bring a 4DPS group with Lock/Spriest/Warrior/Paladin plus a DPS shaman.
Would this setup work - in 2.3 - better with an elemental or an enhancement 5th?
An enhancement shaman can keep DPSing with melee classes on him and (due to lack of diminishing returns on frost shock) keep the melee off the cloth since the group doesn't have a lot of slows... which of course isn't that needed since most likely he'd be the one getting trained. But all it takes is one hunter trap or frost nova and their damage takes a huge dip, especially if they are dispelled to keep BoF out of them.
An elemental shaman can do a lot of DPS if they are left alone, but with a melee class on them the damage just seems to go down a lot. And (having no prior experience with the spec) there are a lot of posts complaining about their burst nerfs in 2.3.
So, what gives? Thoughts?
