Get a Warlock. Now with Rogue/Warlock you have many different setups open to you. Personally I run Rogue/Warlock/Paladin, but we as a team feel that they would do much better if we had a Resto Druid or Holy Priest in my place. Either way I've seen Rogue/Warlock work well with:

Holy Paladin
Resto Druid
Holy Priest
Elemental Shaman
Resto Shaman
Shadow Priest
Frost Mage

I've seen the first 4 of those at 2300+ and the last 3 at least 2k+. So yea, you have a lot of options if you can get a good Warlock.

It is better to be hated for what you are than to be loved for what you are not

Really great quote, had to say that.

Sorry for the off-topic.

Currently playing Rogue/Lock/Pala, and as TurrenMC said, a Priest would fit better here. Still, I do think Mage/Rogue/Priest is most fun to play. Played some games yesterday as PvE Sword specc, and it's soo much fun! :P

We finally found a good lock on our server through some incredibly lucky twist of fate, and went from 1950ish (a low with the frost mage we were playing with who decided to stop playing his mage so much) to 2100. We still have an extremely high win record, this was our first day, and our lock doesn't have a mic (although he's extremely attentive on vent). Mace rogue/aff lock/resto druid is definitely going amazing for us atm, hoping to break 2200 next time we can queue some games.

rogue lock druid is an amazing combo, although its really lock druid when u factor in how much the rogue is cc'ed >.> We stopped playing about a month ago, but before that point we had gone 49-1 after getting used to our combo.

Rogue / Lock / Druid is pretty solid, but it is kinda tough to play I think. Some teams (neilyo's) make it look really easy, but i am sure they have tons of practice with the makeup and they know how to make things happen.

for the lock/rogue/druid is mace more viable than daggers?

i"m trying to decide what would be a better spec for me to go in 2.3

I'm currently running Warlock/Druid/Rogue. It is a very powerful team; we made it to 2k with a Druid who had at the time 9k hp and <100 resil. Also I'm Mute and I feel it offers burst where the SL/SL lock does not offer it, and leaving him free to CC. We now have a Druid who is the Warlock's 2s Druid and we managed to push the team into Glad with relative ease after a few games so that the druid could become comfortable with healing me (we had never played together before) I believe the CC from both the Druid and the Warlock is a powerful part of this combo so if you want to run it make sure that your partners can CC well.

To be honest Rogue/Priest/Warlock is not terrible at all. I run that team and our counters of course, seem to be warrior/healer/caster. We go about 50/50 with those teams. Definitely not terrible, coordination and communication are the key.

macerogue/sllock/restodruid is the most pick up and play friendly.

Druid/Rogue/Lock and Priest/Rogue/Frost Mage are both great combinations.

Both these setups are very strong, but priest/rogue/mage is going to be a force to be reckoned with next season with the disc buffs.

I see quite a lot of you saying that two best combinations for a rogue would be :
rogue/warlock/druid
rogue/mage/priest
But why? Why doesn't mage and druid or warlock and priest stack? Why won't it work? What's the advantage of one over the other, could you explain what you gain in those certain setups what you don't get in another?
Thanks in advance.

rather simple, rogue sl lock druid is outlast playing a priest in there gives you a weak link, and less mana efficiency. rogue mage priest is offensive kill someone, dispell works better in that.

I agree, but we had our warlock go felgaurd to get the damage boost we needed to burn someone quick. Still a pretty decent combo overall, we tend to burn the warrior first (unless it's a UA lock) on the caster/warr/healer teams and it works pretty well. I just went AR/prep this patch after running it as combat for awhile and I like it a lot more.

First off, hey Cramerr! Didn't know you were into PvP now :p

Second, with limited runs (we've been focusing on our 5s) as a Priest/Mage/Rogue, it feels pretty straightforward and simple. My other teams have usually been a mix of what could be considered 'off combo' setups, I can definitely tell the difference.

If you're looking to have a strong team, right from the start with regards to your group makeup, I'd heavily suggest the priest/mage/rogue setup. Again, the combination is only part of the mix, as communication, awareness, and gear are also large factors. If you don't know your new teammates, spend a bit getting to know them, identifying their voices, and learning their playstyle in either skirmishes or BGs. Don't rely on either of those as a gauge of 'how the team is doing', but more to get used to each other.

Edit: FYI - Armory doesn't appear to have updated yet, only 1967 for the 5s, broke 2k with it a bit ago, 3s is currently waiting as mentioned above.

rogue/sl lock/druid

seems to come out on top vs most rogue/priest/mage teams we play even after disc changes.

I run rogue/lock/priest, and I've found it to be very powerful.

Other good combos include
rogue/mage/priest
rogue/lock/druid
rogue/s-priest/resto sham
rogue/lock/resto sham

All of those are balanced and can do very well. You could also do 3 DPS, like rogue/mage/s-priest, or rogue/lock/s-priest, which are a lot of fun, but require a lot more coordination.

rogue / sl lock / druid
rogue/ frostmage / disc priest

these 2 set ups are so far i could think of as the best if not close ones.
and cikah, i think rogue sl druid vs rogue frost priest,,, if you could get fear+blind rotation off from druid, there's also high chance for rogue mage priest team to win.

Also...

rogue / disc priest / druid ... this team actually works..... but would be vulnerable to warr / 2 healer team though or hunter / 2 healer with druid team
