.. am I missing something?

Bored as hell with SL/SL and basically got my 2v2 stalled for netherdrake so decided to spec about a bit for my 3v3 team.

I went felguard, 7/43/11, and immediately lost 9/10 games dropping down to some horrid 2000-ish rating.

Now, I don't think I'm THAT bad at playing it though there's certainly room for improvement.

Played with a resto druid, mutilate rogue and myself(mwahah).

What should I do to not suck horribly in this setup? Spec something else, or is there some element of l2p that I missed?

Edit: mostly met priest + SL/SL + LOL MACE SKILL EFFECT teams every time

i don't like the feltard. its too easy to kill, too easy to banish and leaves you pretty vulnerable when either happens. if this is what happened and caused you to die in any of those fights, thats pretty much your answer

I find that felguard intercept is a very nice additional stun/interupt to have. My 2v2 partner is a felguard warlock and we do pretty well. Also he has void star tailisman, which increases his pets resistance by like 70 or something, with that, the basic stuff it gets, and shadow prot, It's pretty fun to watch warlock chain cast banish on them and waste a lot of time.

I run Felguard in 5s and it does wonderful. I love the spec alot, you acutaly have to cast something :]

But I run sl/sl in 3s with the exact same setup as yours, I was thinking going FG for 3s to make games go quicker but after what you said, I don't know. 2v2 I dont really run so...

Works great in 5s tho :] or any team for that matter but it all depends on the team makeup.

Void star talisman would help a LOT, I can imagine.

Yeah I was SL/SL with this setup before and got 2.2k with not too much hassle :\

Both the rogue and I have been "cookie cutter" specs before to get gladiator enabling teams, but we're so bored with SL/SL and combat maces and decided to mess around a bit with specs.
I suppose 43/7/11 is next, because felguard is horrid so far. He nuked Void Reaver though, 1600 crits! :D

:[, I lost Void star talisman to a 100% pve lock last week.

Yea, same with us, thats why I am hesatant to run it as FG, we aren't having trouble now so... no point in changing it up unless we run into problems.:D

Oh and I wouldnt give up on the spec so easily :] Give it time you will learn some veery important tricks.

i play affliction in 3v3 with a rogue and a druid and we have 2 teams above 2400.

its a very good spec, most of our games are over within 10-15 seconds becauase affliction lock + combat rogue with AR up is just too much damage to heal through when you're getting spell locked/cycloned etc.

if you want to play soul link and outlast, play with a druid and a warrior, not a rogue.

Got only to around 2k with druid + warrior and SL/SL.

Got back up to 2.1k with mage + druid and 43/7/11 yesterday, though. One game was great fun - paladin/shaman/warrior and the shaman just died within seconds of the game start :D

Will try the UA spec with a rogue, though mutilate more likely than combat. We'll see, the team isn't really that serious anyways since everyone playing in it get gladiator from other teams.

felguard + shadowburn specs are mostly strong in 5v5, or paired with say...frost mage or rogue. any time a situation is created where you get to freecast bolts, searing pain, etc--this spec is insane for damage output.

for 3v3, pvp affliction 43/7/11 is usually stronger, and for 2v2, sl/sl or 20/41/0 are usually stronger when paired with a healer.

personally, though...5v5 is the bracket that i find to be the most fun, and i have run sl/sl, aff, 5/35/21, etc in this bracket before settling a bit ago on 9/41/11 and sticking with it.

i left a 2k+ 5v5 on tuesday, and after about five hours of queues, the team i created that day was > 2k as well (currently 2130 without slowing down yet). after seeing the damage this build pumps out, my teammates have all been very vocal in vent about how much they love the build.

having said all this, the proof is in the pudding--Azazael (number 1 5v5 in bg9) and helldridge (number 2 5v5 in bg9) both run felguard + shadowburn specs in 5v5s as well, as did Tiz (winner of the 5v5 tourney last season).

Felguard kind of sucks, it's like 5 v 5 there are better specs. 2 v 2 there are better specs, the only time it can be good imo is 3 v 3 with a warrior + paladin.

2 v 2 for certain felguard isn't viable at all. You can't hope to beat any warrior + x combos with a felguard, or even warlock + x 99% of the time if they know what to do.

I run 6/44/11 for both pve and pvp, and I love it.

2v2 - I play with a holy priest and the only teams we tend to consistently have trouble with are war/druid and rogue/priest (if the rogue goes on me). We hop around teams out of boredom, but have no trouble reaching 2200+.

3v3 - I played with the same priest and an elemental shammy and we got up to 2264 before the shammy stopped playing.

5v5 - Don't feel terribly knowledgeable about this bracket, never really enjoyed it, but current team is 73-7 and still going strong

Would have to say though, I would never run this spec in pvp without the Talisman.

I am running the same combo in 3v3 as the OP, rogue warlock druid, except our rogue is AR/prep. I have felguard but I use it VERY sparingly in 3v3. Basically it is exclusively for intercept to catch druids. Other than that purpose, felguard is basically only good for an outlast team. To me, a team with a rogue instead of a warrior is not made for outlast, in most cases it is to your advantage to go burst. Granted sometimes you can still outlast with the help of the druid but against any team with a warrior this is often a losing proposition. Usually you are going to want to be using the felhunter since it is far superior for a burst style strat.

I do 2v2 as felguard with a frost mage, and really, the only team we can't beat is sl/sl lock + druid. We can beat them with any other healer so far, and any warrior team is easy../shrug. I like the spec.
