Sup,
Been playing a couple of brackets with limited success for a while now. I consider myself a decent PvPer, and as much as I'd like to blame gear, that excuse only goes so far. Playing paladin warrior ele shaman in 3s atm which is the bracket I feel I lack the most at, so, like, what differentiates the good shamans from the great shamans?

Videos would be great!

edit: seeing as I can't actually reply to these posts without 'permission', I really appriciate the pointers so far. I've got the pvp trinket, that's probably my PvE set you're seeing there. The teams that give us the most trouble are typically those that play really offensively. I'm rolling with about 200 resilience and some 8k hp with shout. I recon more stamina would be in place, but other than the stamina/resilience I get from gladiator gear, should I go for more via gems?

again, thanks!

Well your job on this 3s team is doing a few things...
1) Whenever the warrior is dropping you may need to throw in a few extra heals to help keep him up.
2) Always be locking to shock those heals from the paladin to drop the target you and the warrior are aiming.
3) Always keep your WF totem up.
4) I would assume most teams target you so it may be wise to start stacking some stam and resil and act as a tank of the team while the warrior does the steady DPS, you are used as a burst DPS to help drop the target you are aiming.
5) Slow your opponets with your shocks and totems, kiting is key.

Are you having trouble against certain kinds of teams? That would help to give a little more of a detailed answer...

Most likely you'll be the main target, so just learn to kite more, use rank 1 shocks for everything. If its a rogue on you drop poison cleansing totem and also cast cleanse poison on yourself and try to get the pally to use lesser cleanse on you, that way you'll most likely have 3 separate cleanses on you at all times. Use rank 1 earth shock to watch the off target, thats the target not on you or your warrior isn't on. Most likely its a healer, shock cc's first, then heals, most likely its going to be a long fight so shocking heals isn't really worth it in the beginning.

Keep rotating wf totem and grounding, if its a cc heavy grp drop grounding ONLY when you see a cc being casted. The weakness of a shammy is that we don't have cc, but we have many different counters for other cc's so use it to your full extent. Keep purges on your main target, and when the main assist target is low, call for a bop and burst him down while trying to interrupt the incoming heals.

Edit: After looking at your armory, you should try to get the insignia of the horde trinket, it helps you get out of rogue stun locks and lets you kite a lot easier. And go for more resilience and sta, but I think your gear is the main reason for holding you back in arenas, ele shamans are really gear dependent for survivability.
