Against double DPS (say rogue/spriest or rogue/lock) when playing with a warrior does he go to D stance and shield as soon as the damage starts coming in? We have generally been doing that but it feels like it just leads to a slow and painful death since his damage output is very low and I will eventually be caught by CC. Even intervening back has not helped as much as I would like. Should he instead go all out and try to drop one of them before I run out of cooldowns?

Personally I would say that your goal isn't exactly to stop all damage as soon as it comes in, but to push out dps when they're on the defensive.

There are two differences used in arena, one being offensive and one being defensive. Offensive is when your warrior is pumping out as much dps as he can while in beserk. While, obviously, defensive is when your warrior puts on a shield, retreats, and gets into defensive stance.

2 dps teams usually go straight out right away with silences, fears, etc. while doing as much dps on your warrior as they can. However, if they see that your warrior has a shield on and is spell reflecting, they'll retreat a bit into defensive so that they can save it for when you guys are off the defensive and onto offensive, where you are easier to kill.

So, really, it's just a balance between offensive and defensive. You have an advantage on your side with their minimal ability to healing, meaning you can last much longer than they can. If you get feared or silenced, instantly call out for your warrior to get on the defensive. Because of this you're crossing out their only way to beat you (becides dpsing you down, which you should have minimal issues getting away with).

As soon as they're finnished getting off the offensive, they'll try and pull back onto the defensive while waiting for cooldowns and DR. During this time is when you should charge ahead, cyclone one, keep up heals, and hope that you can rip into them before they start up again.

Woah, long. Hope this helps. =P
