I know for a fact that the resilience/DoT nerf was coming out this patch and the resist wearing nerf was supposed to come along with it....but on the PTR i was able to swap gear. Would be really lame if the two didnt come out at the same time. Anyone know whats up?

they scrapped the idea for now.

This is a huge swing in balance for 2v2. Without gear swapping, warlock/spriest would be very strong. With gear swapping, resilience affecting DoTs and reduced fear duration warlock/spriest is all of a sudden moving to the bottom of the pile.

thats retarded...so now im gonna be doing less damage on top my 75% mitigated damage against people in 350 shadow resist...

People in shadow resist gear will most likely only have the resilience from their weapons/trinkets. Don't expect to see too much of a change.

If they really aren't changing the whole gear swapping thing then 2's just got a lot easier for me and my partner. Switching out pvp gear for pve gear has been really crucial for us vs. warlock/pally due to both of us having some nice pve gear. Also, I will be needing shadow resist any ways for pve content so this is just an extra plus.

Gear swapping will only affect 2v2s, 3v3 and 5v5s should remain the same.

The irony however is that warlocks and Spriests get a general dmg nerf on TOP of having 75% of their dmg resisted with a single press of a button

As people progress into BT every scrub will be able to get his hands only shadow resist gear. EVen w/o BT SR gear you can just collect greens and swap them as soon as you see a warlock in 2v2s and you basically just won the game.

I don't see how warlock/healer is affected by this. I don't think stacking SR (at least the AH variety) is all that useful against that lineup. Yes I can resist most of his mana drains, but he can instantly try again and my mana pool is nonexistant in SR gear. And a SL lock will not kill my warrior partner as long as I have mana, SR or not. So better stack damage gear to kill that pet.

Warlock/spriest, however, will be hosed in BGs with significant PvE progression.

It's about time for the locks to have a few bad months to be honest.

Any non warlock that thinks otherwise say now.

Because warlocks have been overpowered since day 1 of release amirite?

I had to deal with the majority of top warrior+healer teams in my 2v2 bracket using SR last season though and still got my drake. This season I'm focusing on 3v3/5v5 so I could care less.

Incorrect. Ignoring resist sets - against certain teams I KNOW they aren't going for me first so I put on a hybrid pvp/pve set. Against teams that focus but don't CC me, I put on a second stam trinket (either spyglass or rocket launcher) instead of a pvp trinket. Gear swapping isn't just for lolshadow resist -_-

i dont know about you but i run into people using shadow resist vs. me in 5v5 and 3v3....in fact i was playing 3v3 the other day with a new team(spriest/lock/pally) and we came against team and every single one of them was in Black tempal shadow resist. the #1 team in my 5v5 BG has their warrior put on his BT shadow resist vs us...this leaves us the choice of killing either a frost mage or demo lock first...happens in every bracket and its lame as hell. personally i have a spell penetration set, but my warlock i play 3v3 and 5v5 with doesn't. The whole i dea of gear swapping is fina and should be alowd, they should just quit beating around the bush and remove swapping items with resist. its dumbing down the arena as a whole to completely remove any type of gear swaps.

I don't like this change. It makes no sense how you can get out of combat, drink, and even ressurect the dead, but you cannot swap gear.

The Arena sets and the whole Arena in general is so full of holes.
