Well, I'm mutilate at the moment and I've been thinking about this for a while. Having ar would be useful in many situations, and mace stuns are always a plus. The positional requirement is also an issue vs. other meelee.

If I'm looking to do well overall next season, would I be better off as maces or mutilate? Also, which brackets does each excell the most in? Thank you in advance.

You will get bored very fast. Even though Combat maces is spam SS. It sure is scrub friendly. Combat mutilate is more burst and more coordination while a 2 year old can spam sinister strike. Now to the point Combat mutilate wins the damage run while Comat Maces needs to rely on stun and AR and is quite good for burst. But in the long run/battles I would choose Combat Mutilate.

Well, atm combat maces is just straight up the better spec for 3v3 and 5v5.

While I agree, it isnt as fun or active as a mutilate spec (me being mutilate for months and months untill about a month ago I can say this)

Sounds like not a whole lot is going to change with 2.3 either. Mutilate tree not getting any significant change, combat maces not getting a significant change other the the +crit dmg. So all in all id say combat maces is getting the bigger buff then mutilate.

But either way, just go with what you think is most fun because they are both awesome specs.

Me personally, I liked mutilate better as I had more control over point generation and was able to time burst better but honestly, going up against mace rogues and warriors time after time after time started to get me frustrated. I made the switch and have an easier time getting the job done.

People are talking alot about Hemo now. It seems to me its the perfect spec for 1v1 and possibly double dps 2v2. I just dont see it out damaging mutilate or mace combat in the 3v3 or 5v5 brackets.

My 2v2 rogue just went from combat to mutilate and the team is unexpectedly stronger as a result. Long story short, he kills warlock pets faster.

i think that for 2.3 you shoud take 5/31/25 spec. its very nice for 2on2. and in 3on3 and 5on5 it also makes good dmg and you have of course all cd's twice. i will test ist :) hemo ftw! hf gl
