View Full Version : [5v5] Best Way To Beat 2345 Teams as 3 Dps 2 Healers?

I know 4 dps insta gib teams work well against 2345 teams, but is there anything 3 dps 2 healer teams can do that will give them a good chance at winning each time? Seems like no matter who you focus or CC there is always something free that gives you a lot of problems.
2345 team = warrior, frost mage, ele shaman, holy/disc priest, pally
2345 teams are designed to abuse the warrior in a 5 v 5 environment.
Priest is there to dispell the warrior and manaburn
Pally is for BOF and cleanse and heal the warrior
Mage is support sheep and extra DPS
Shaman is to provide WF and heroism for the warrior
WARRIOR IS THE KEY MEMBER FOR THAT TEAM.
That means that if you can shut down the warrior you will win the game. An ele shaman and mage cannot do enough DPS alone.
There are different ways to shut down warriors. If you have casters you can focus the warrior itself, be sure to dispell heroism and BOF, mage frost spells should be enough to hinder the warrior. Focus DPS on the warrior while CCing the healer will = win. Have your clothies kite the warrior when taken agro, you should also have BOF, just avoid those purges if you can. Warrior would be frozen at all times. Keep in mind warrior is taking 10-15% more dmg as well, therefore they WILL go down fast.
Your second option is to CC the warrior and focus on secondary DPS or on a healer. If you have a mage just detect magic + chain sheep the warrior. Should be enough to take him out of the battle for a while. If the priest is dispelling, he is not healing. A simple CC on the pally and yuo should have enough DPS to down a secondary DPS. Depending on your class makeup you can go for that shaman or priest. A pally as a sole healer CANNOT keep that priest up. Same goes for the priest. But be sure to CC the warrior.
As a side note, if you are still having trouble with 2345 you might want to wait till the windfury fix which should happen next week . That togather with BOF and BOS nerfs should hurt 2345 teams considerably.
Actually, the warrior isn't really a key. It is a balanced team. With WF, the warrior is the only physical DPS required, and they supply the MS debuff. Mage and shaman burst dps is actually pretty amazing. Shatter combo and LB+EM NS CL+ES are amazing controlled bursts. The warrior supplies the constant pressure, while mage and shaman provide the controlled bursts. Priests are prime targets in that team as well since all the other classes are harder to kill by a good margin. That allows more chances to free cast for the two casters. I would have to say if anything is a key class to the 2345 team, that it is the shaman. They provide a large boost to the warriors dps, provides off healing, and blood lust. Shaman + pally together generally fill up any offensive and defensive holes your team may have if you run a warrior and a mage. It is a 2.5 healer team (shaman offhealer) at the same time as a 3.5 dps team (WF totem + blood lust). They offer aoe snare through earth bind (sorta like what hunters do) and provide grounding totem. Basically its the best balanced team you can have, it has no real weakness to any particular team, where as say a 4 dps team loses to tri healer.

I think I can see some weakneses of that team.
vs war+mage+lock+disc/holy priest + pal
While mage controll warrior and pally, warlock controll shaman and mage, while COTing healers.
This setup outcrowdcontrol 2345 team by far, while being able to perform almost the same dps and healing. And manadrain os always there.
Maybe I`m noob but I realy do not know how to beat that team with 2345. Any tips?
vs rogue+mage+ele shaman+warlock + restore druid.
If they go for warrior first, and do everyting fast, they are able to crowdcontrol entire 2345 team, while killing stunlocked warrior. This setup is pretty amazing imo, if this team perform everything fast, they can even afford some corowdcontroll mistakes.

While I don't see our combo as ideal in a lot of cases, it counters right now the popular teams which are 2345, double warrior + pali + shaman + X, and gib teams. 2345 teams are usually close games, but double warrior I think we have lost to once all season, and gib teams we very rarely lose to when we're on our game.
The setup is Druid/rogue/mage/pali/war, which doesn't sound that strong... and really isn't, but having a druid and a mage to CC wars I have found to pretty much make the games easy. Keeping FF and Detect magic up on wars, while rotating cyclones, sheeps, roots and snares and timing CC on the pali also our three dps can usually run down the other teams mana or take someone out while CCing the pali.
Against gib teams having a druid is so great since you can start early with hots and are hard to lock down.
That being said when 2.2 hits we'll probably start losing to 2345 all the time, since i can't dispel sheep off my pali and BoSac is getting nerfed into the ground. I guess thats not much help, but atm it is a setup that can win.

we do fine against these teams usually.
we run: warrior hunter pally and alternate healers
with pally shaman, I(warrior) get on the ele sham to stop is DPS, my hunter or warlock gets on the mage to slow down his casting while the other focuses on the pally. we have 2 pets and they will oom before we oom.
with priest pally we go do the same but put extra pressure on the pally
with shaman priest I keep the shamans dps in check (while trying to MS the pally) while my teammates focus on the pally with special attention to burning mana.
so basically, target switching, CC and pressure, lol

To me the warrior allows you to run the match into the mid and late game. If the warrior goes down it kind of puts you on a clock because shamans run out of mana quick and mages will go oom soon after. Sure you can still win…but it’s probably going to be a stretched out game involving lots of drinking
