So, I currently play moonkin, and I absolutely hate the idea of playing a double healer 5v5, and my newly 5v5 is doing alright, and is a 4 dps.
But that's not really what I need advise on.
I'm planning to go resto next season, because even though it's fun to play balance, I have really lost my love for it. There's to many obvious flaws and faults in the balance tree, and the new healing to spelldamage change will suit my playstyle even more so.

My question is, for a 4 dps with a resto druid healing, I want to use
Restoration Druid, Mutilate Rogue, Frost Mage, (?) Warlock and a 4th dps.

I'm torn between a Shadow Priest or an Elemental Shaman, going more for Shaman due to personallity and individual skill of the person in question, but what works best in reality ? It's obvious the Warlock needs to go affliction in case we use a shadow priest, but how does the team work with an elemental shaman? I can see paladins becoming maybe a bit of a problem.

Any suggestions and advice about it will be highly appreciated.

I play frost mage resto druid aff lock spriest and multi rogue and I think you really need a priest for mass dispell and defensive dispell.

Could you tell me, where exactly are the flaws of the balance tree? Can't find any ....

Well, it's not directly flaws but we currently very incapable of shutting something down fast enough and must rely on interruption from others. Feral charge is a feral talent, and before the /cancelform takes effect, it's just not effective enough imo :)

This is the combo I'm hoping to make season 3. Can someone explain the general tactics invovled in playing this team setup?

well the ele sham provides burst on cooldown which should garuntee dropping a warrior in a simple balanced team. the spriest provides more overall damage imo.

atm, i run war/pal/fmage/ele sham + me(i ran FG for burst+survivability)

what a good ele sham brings to the table is very impressive, and if u do decide to go spriest you better have a 450+ resi spriest ready to tank nearly every fight.

EDIT: 2.1k in 5s

Leaving a form and going bear will trigger the GCD, thus making the feral charge a 1,5 sec "cast".

Cyclone is a 1,5 sec cast, does not have damage pushback as a moonkin ... and granted we cannot shut down someone fast (like, instant, deathcoil or counterspell or silence) BUT we can shut down someone LONG better than any other class or spec in this game.

Alph, I play the class to and I do know this stuff. But I feel like a big block in my 5v5 currently, and I dislike double healer a lot in 5v5, and ill try something new in s3 :)

Ye well, only thing I can tell you:
Resto druid is very viable for 4 dps, but you will want a lot of CC
I just wonder why you dislike double healer teams? Moonkins are an incredible force in those
