I already have my full merc set, weapon and offhand...is it worth it to strat saving now for next season or is it too soon? might get the healing set meanwhile but id like to be capped at 5k points...so anyone know how long till season 3?

I'd get to 3000 points, then anything you earn after that just spend until the announcement that the season's ending soon. (Last time we were notified a bit in advance, should probably be the same this season) Can't go wrong like that, even if the season does end earlier than expected, you still have a decent amount of points left.
Edit: I'd imagine there's still at least 4-5 weeks left in the season, minimum.

Voice chat was just released on the PTR so we got I'd say a minimum two weeks before it hits live. Then after that we have at least a minimum three weeks before 2.3 hits the PTR.. I'd say you got tons of time, but if you're really worried just do what the above poster said. Just save 3-4k points and spend them every monday so that they don't just roll over.
edit: Keep in mind what I'm saying is the pure minimum, I'd say we have over 2 months before the seasons over, if the season ending will coincide with the release of 2.3 anyway. But considering how much gear will be added in that patch I'm pretty damn sure it will.

I do not expect season 3 to come soone than in 2 months. S3 will come with Zul`Aman instanse. So I think there is a long long wait ahead.
I`m going for Enh gear :)

Yeah I wouldn't even think about doing that yet, it's still a couple months off still, probably more.

I think we got at least 8 more weeks of this season minimum.

Wow, 8 weeks would give me enough time to finish gearing in full merciless and get merc xbow and save nearly 5k points XD wozors.
yep, long time to go till S3. Rumors were mid Oct at the earliest.
Blizz officially said S3 would start with Zul'aman, BUT they also said they might delay it a couple of weeks depending how they felt about it.
Bottom line, dont' hold your breath on S3, you have 2 months to go

Nice, should be able to get full Season 2 gear/weapons and bank 5k then. I was worried it would start mid-September.

my bet would be
2.2 next tuesday (i believe the blizzard downloader is already running)
2.3 would be at least a month away before it hits PTR...then at least another 2 weeks on PTR.
So we got a good 2 months or so.
I'm thinking WOTLK is going to come out 6 months after that. Since they said a new arena season would come with the xpac
From what I've read 2.3 is already at least 1/4 done so I expect to see it on test realm almost immediately. They usually release bits at a time, not a rough version of a done patch.
WOTLK is hitting stores exactly mid january, of not early, which will coincide with the release of warhammer. Blizz has to do this, even if the product is hald finished and no end game isntances are available..or they will lose costumers. Arena season 4 will also coincide with the release of WOTLK, which makes sense

Nod.
Can imagine what it's like in the developer room at Blizzard when they only hear about good feedback from WAR beta players.

Warhammer has been so over-hyped at this point, there's no way it'll match people's expectations. How naive is everyone that they think magically it's going to solve every problem that has plagued every MMO since the conception of the genre?

i highly doubt blizzard has anything to fear from WAR. they've scrapped whole games after years of development because it didn't meet their standards. I don't think they will release a half assed xpac just to beat out an insignificant competitor

It will happen, the hype is just too great. What they will do is release only the low tier instances and the new BG, while continuing to work on the high end ones
Same thing with BC, BT and Hyjal were supposed to be included with the release, they were delayed for a few months however.

So was the hype for Vanguard. I doubt War will be that big a failure, but i seriously doubt it will get over 500k accounts. The thing is 500k accounts is a huge success for any other game, to Blizzard thats no competition.
They need to get this in close to or after the new Year's even. Thats when the money starts flowing.
500k accounts is 1/20 of their player base. Quite still a substancial loss\
Blizzard might not care, but Vivendi does :)

Yeah, I am fairly sure it will be a minimum of 3 months before Season 3 hits. Assuming you are in at least a 2000 rated 5v5 team, you will be gaining a minimum of 1000 points per week. You have 7k points to spend on whatever you please.
Personally, I don't need any more gear until Season 3.
