So I just started a 3v3 team yesterday with new people (lock and rogue) and we easly took our rating to 2100. We then faced the same priest/mage/rogue team about 5 times and lost every single time. Same thing would happen ever time. They would focus my rogue doing enough damage to force me to gheal and now matter how hard i tried to stay out of los of the mage he would just end up blinking then chaining into a sheep/blind(intrupts my heals even if i trinket/stoneform) and my rouge would die with me not being able to do anything.

I would try very aggressively to mana drain the mage. You could probably put your rogue on their rogue in order to keep him semi-locked down and focus everything on getting the mage oom. He only has one counterspell and if he CSes your shadow tree early, you're in a good shape. Not to mention the lock will be able to continually drain spam him.

yep, basically your team has one advantage: warlocks dont oom but mages do.
by sticking your rogue on theirs and using fear on priest where possibly(allows for your hots to tick and stops dispelling of mana drain on mage)

it becomes a real struggle when the other team has fear ward, as well as a dwarf rogue to stoneform out of wound to cop a big heal..racials are pretty big in this matchup

You don't even have to be winning the damage war vs the other rogue, as long as you keep him stunned/gouged and kite him around, your priest/warlock will end up draining a lot of the mages mana.

When I used to play this setup with a crappy geared warlock, and a gladiator priest, we ran into this setup that had full merciless on all of them. We lost the first game because their rogue got on me, and they had the better gear to win. The 2nd game we stole 25 points because we surprised them and went after the priest (locking him down while fearing the rogue, rogue blew trinket and he ended up getting blinded-sap-fear) and put tons of pressure to keep himself up. This entire time we are keeping all sheeps off of us as our priest was mana burning their mage to oblivion.

I've found this match up can go a number of ways. The way I like to play it is try to rush down their priest asap, set your focus target to the mage and when/if he comes back to protect his priest spam CoT, fear and spell lock on it and use your dispels on your rogue. If their rogue/mage went for your priest it should leave you in a 2v2 situation which I find is often not very difficult to win (kill the rogue, control the mage).

If their rogue goes for you then get your rogue to get on their rogue and oom the mage.

I have by no means perfected this match up and the burst of an ice mage/rogue is often to difficult to overcome
