Greetings,

How do I get crystal clear FRAPs footage? My settings are correct, and I still do not get high-quality footage. (I record at 30 FPS, Full Screen, No Sync Unchecked.) I can still see the damage and what not but it is kind of fuzzy.

My Computer Specs:
AMD Athlon 2800+
ATI X800 GT
1 GB Corsair Ram
120 Gig Maxtor Hard drive

I am upgrading my computer soon but I was wondering if there was anything I could possibly do in the mean time.

Thanks,

Cromius

GONNA FRAPS ALL THOSE TIMES YOU LOSE TO US!?

:P <3.

P.S. do you only have 1gb of ram? Tbh I think lacking that much ram while trying to record at 30 fps/fullscreen wouldn't give perfect picture quality.

P.P.S. Wanna arrange a time for our point selling teams to fight each other? See who'll win in the enchancement-shaman/hunter/rogue mirror cripple fights?

Hai qt pai!

Hell yeah I am going to FRAPs the retard matches.

Anyways, I was thinking 1 GB of ram might not be enough, I will upgrade soon. Do you have any other suggestions that might help? Or am I going to be stuck with crappy quality until I upgrade ;(?

I truly believe so : /. I have 1.5gb of RAM now, you know what I had before? 500 megs. Even thinking about fraps was 100%-LOL. Even with 1.5gb now it's not that great, and I'm certainly not going to fraps anything seriously with it.

P.S. I'm gonna have some pointsell teams play this weekend (Saturday), which is regularly becoming the normal day to do it.

You should definitely give me some points on my Gnome Mage!

I was thinking of upgrading my mother board, and adding some more RAM I think that would help out a lot. Thanks for the advice ;O!

I run with 1g ram and full screen and get more or less perfect quality raw files, so I doubt that would hold you back much.

@op I can't really imagine why you'd have quality issues. The only thing I could think of is try recording to a HD separate from your wow install if you're not doing so already.

edit: Just did some 5 minute research that I should have done before posting. Surprisingly enough graphics cards determine graphic quality and there's some not-so-favorable reviews for ati x800 gt. I'd probably start your upgrade there.

You are being held back by your computer. The number one bottleneck for fraps is your processor. You need a dual core (or better) cpu if you want to do full screen properly. After that, look into getting a second hard drive for your footage. I'd say only after you have those two things, upgrade your ram to 2gb.

What resolution are you running at? If it's above 1152x864 (regular) or 1280x800(wide) without the NEWEST version of fraps your footage is going to be cut in half automatically. Might want to look into either getting the newest version of fraps or going to one of those resolutions if that's the case.

Hope this helped :)
