I'm leveling up a hunter, but I'm having some issues deciding on a spec.

I've been thinking of something like http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=mZE0moEzMgotchhotc.

First of all, should I drop imp. arcane shot for something else, such as rapid killing?

Also, I have no idea what I should get between Combat Experience, Careful Aim, and Barrage.

Any help would be appreciated, since I haven't PvPd on this hunter since the first summer honor system came out :?

Is what I use when specced MM, has all the important stuff for pvp - imp stings, entrapment, surefooted, dett.. etc.

Aswell as the pve/grinding crap - Rapid killing, go for the throat etc.

An alround solid build, hope I helped :)

I was wondering for more of a pure arena spec. Also, is imp barrage really that good? It just seems like the overall 3% from ranged specialization would be more useful.

Yes, Imp Barrage is really that good, especially in high rated arena's where we lose 10% crit from Resilience.

BTW, if you were gonna take those 3 points out of Imp. Barrage and put them elsewhere anyway, put them in Careful Aim, Arcane Shot is effected by Attack power, not Ranged Weapon Specialization, and 3 points in CA is the equivalent of 3 points in RWS for me, I lose .1 DPS by having my 2 points in CA instead of RWS, but I gain a nice bit of Arcane Shot damage to makeup for this difference and with 5/5 Imp. Arcane I get way more out of my AS.

Dont forget pet scaling with careful aim.

step 1) copy Hamchook's spec

step 2) make sure Hafu has a dwarf priest you can play with.

:p

I'm just playing around with specs here. Check out this purely dps oriented spec. Pretty sweet, huh? :P

Wouldn't be bad for BG's.

...or if you're a really angry person, and like to hit things that don't fight back lol

Except Ranged Weapon Specialization DOES affect arcane shot, it affects all direct ranged damage you deal. This includes Auto, Arcane, Steady, Multi, Aimed, Scatter, and Silencing shot. If you don't believe me, do the math for yourself, arcane shot's damage formula is (RAP * 15%) + 273. Calculate what that number should be and then go see what it actually is with RWS.

Ex: checked it myself just now @ 1914 AP: (1914*15%)+273 = 560 (exactly what the tooltip says), actual damage dealt = 606.

560 * 1.05(Ranged weapon spec) * 1.03(Humanoid Slaying) = 605.7 = correct damage.
